She was born with the power to control desire. She never expected someone else was already controlling her fate.
Kat Burke was born into an ancient vampire Clan that learned generations ago to feed on desire instead of blood. With a single touch, she can awaken what people want. With a sip of their energy, she can leave them craving more.
But Kat refuses to become what her family expects of her. She's spent years building a life beyond the Clan's reach. She wants freedom. She wants control of her own choices. She wants a life that belongs to her.

He was sent to betray her. Falling for her was never part of the job.
Kat Burke has spent her life refusing to become what her vampire Clan expects. A career. A home. A life among humans that belonged to her alone.
Now someone is taking it apart piece by piece. Her job is gone. Every new opportunity mysteriously disappears. And Greta, the ruthless matriarch of Kat's Clan, is waiting for the moment Kat has nowhere left to turn.
Except Kat has Henry—the one man whose desire she can't read, and the one man who makes her want something more dangerous than freedom.
